Chautauqua Photo Safari

For anyone arriving early, we encourage you to explore one of the world's most beautiful places -- Chautauqua Park. For fun, we've taken pics of some of our favorite "power spots" around the grounds and included a blurb about each one below. See if you can find them during your visit!

Once you turn off Baseline road toward the Flatirons, follow the pink line to Cottage 501 and park nearby or walk from Dining Hall Parking.

The 603 Cottage

This is the cottage Jayanti was staying in when we met one year ago. From here, we walked down to Pearl Street Mall and spent an unforgettable day together amid the warm winds and Fall colors.

The Papasita Statue

A tribute to the legendary naturalist who would introduce children to the wonders of Chautauqua's many trails, plants, and animals. Hint -- it's close to the main trail of the park, but amid the Cottage Neighborhood.

Ranger Cottage

If you need to use the restrooms during your safari -- find this spot first! Visit inside to learn about the Park, then venture around the side to find the utilities. Hint: The views of the Flatirons are STUNNING from here.

Bear With Us

Find the General Store and you'll likely run into this marvelous photo-op! For the real deal however, you'll need to journey farther up the mountain. But wander inside the shop for unique gifts, ice-cream, goodies, and more.

OK folks, this is where it all started for us. Friday night Oct 7, we met, at the corner of the historic Chautauqua Dining Hall bar. Be sure to say hello to Andrew the bar-tender and ask for his version of the story!

McClontock Trail - Off the Beaten Path

Imagine hiking this gem in the moonlight of a warm October evening amid the falling leaves under brilliant stars -- that's what we did on our first date. Enjoy it in the daylight or starlight this weekend! Hint: It's next to the Auditorium.
